“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
The Few
Jesus names much fruit here as the specific evidence of genuine discipleship, so shall ye be my disciples, worth noticing this connection directly, fruit not merely a pleasant byproduct of discipleship, but named as its actual, defining evidence, worth examining honestly for whatever fruit your own investment has actually produced.
This is worth holding against however much you have measured your own faithfulness by effort alone, activity and intention, without this further, honest examination of actual fruit produced, worth taking seriously as this verse’s own named standard, not merely trying, but bearing much fruit, genuinely, actually.
Notice herein is my Father glorified, the specific purpose named for this fruit, not merely your own satisfaction or success, but glory given to the Father, worth holding as this whole book’s own deepest aim, whatever multiplication actually occurs ultimately serving this larger, God- centered purpose.
Consider today honestly what fruit your own investment in others has actually, genuinely produced, and whether this fruit is bringing the Father the glory this verse names as its actual purpose, not measured by your own effort alone, but by this genuine, fruit-bearing evidence Jesus names directly.
Pour Into the Few
- Examine honestly what actual fruit, not merely effort, your own investment has genuinely produced.
- Consider whether this fruit is bringing glory to the Father, this verse’s own named, deeper purpose.
- Take one step today toward greater fruitfulness, not merely continued, unmeasured activity.
Prayer
Lord, let me bear much fruit, evidence of genuine discipleship, bringing you glory, not merely measured by my own effort or intention, but by actual, produced fruit. Amen.
Carry this today
Much fruit is discipleship’s actual evidence, bringing the Father glory, not merely your effort.
