Which Passeth All Understanding

Part Three · Still · 1 minute read

← The Flood

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7

The Storm

Thirty days ago this book began with deep calleth unto deep, honest naming of genuine overwhelm, waves and billows gone over me. It closes here, with the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, worth holding as this whole book’s actual, complete arc, from honest overwhelm to this described, comprehensive, keeping peace.

Notice which passeth all understanding, worth examining directly, this peace not fully explainable, not contingent on first understanding why the storm came or how it will eventually resolve, but genuinely available, keeping your hearts and minds, even without this full, satisfying explanation ever actually, fully arriving.

Look back over these thirty days, overwhelmed, anchored, still, and notice they were never really separate stages left permanently behind, but one continuous, ongoing pattern, honest naming, genuine anchoring, actual stillness, worth returning to, deliberately, whenever the next storm, as storms genuinely do, eventually comes.

You began this book naming waves and billows honestly. You end it here, with peace that passeth all understanding, keeping your heart and mind, through Christ Jesus, not because the storm never returns, but because this whole book’s pattern, honestly named, genuinely anchored, actually stilled, remains genuinely, reliably available, every time it does.

Find the Still

  • Write down the single truth from these thirty days that most reshaped how you see genuine overwhelm.
  • Name one specific way you will return to this whole pattern, deliberately, when the next storm comes.
  • Tell one person this week something true about peace in the storm you did not know a month ago.

Prayer

Lord, let the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep my heart and mind through Christ Jesus, today, and every time the storm returns, trusting this pattern always available. Amen.

Carry this today

This peace passes understanding, keeping heart and mind even without full, satisfying explanation.

Which Passeth All Understanding

Thirty days ago you began with deep calleth unto deep, honestly naming waves and billows gone over you.

You know now: the storm did not disqualify your faith. And the stillness was never something you had to manufacture alone.

Whatever storm returns, and it likely will, you know now where the anchor holds, and who still speaks peace.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
